Omschrijving

Robert Parker
The 2021 Bourgneuf has turned out better than I anticipated, and one senses its proximity to Trotanoy more clearly than was the case from barrel. Exhibiting aromas of sweet berries, cherries and licorice, it's medium to full-bodied, fleshy and layered, with good depth at the core, framed by sweet structuring tannins. While it will offer plenty of near-term appeal, don't discount its capacity to age.

Vinous
The 2021 Bourgneuf has one of the better sets of aromatics on the nose, with a sense of brightness, éclat: black cherries intermixed with blueberry, violet and shavings of black truffle. The palate is medium-bodied with a sapid entry and fine depth, quite peppery in style with ample weight and delineation on the finish. Conspicuously spicy on the aftertaste, this is a Pomerol that Iw ould like to have in my cellar.

Decanter
Clear and clean in the glass, a light colour, almost translucent. Floral and fruity, notes of roses and violets with raspberries and red cherries. High acidity, salty, gripping tannins and a menthol undercurrent. Quite a pretty, delicate take on the vintage for Pomerol, really haven't pushed this, tannins are a touch grippy and grainy but this balances out to a finish with high-toned red berry fruit and lots of wet stone salty, minerality. Not super long, but very enjoyable.
